Finally got some time to work on the software system.  I’ve added a pad component and a spreadsheet and changed some of the software requirements.  I’ve been doing some bitcoin trading and I think I have a better idea of what I need and what I don’t need.

First of all, I’m not going to work on charting for now.  The problem with charting is that I’m getting good charts from bitcoinwisdom, and so I don’t need that feature for now.  The two features that I do need are some sort of shareable spreadsheet, and some sort of alert feature.

I’ve added ethercalc and etherpad to the trading system.  Right now I’m trying to figure out how to hook them up with opengamma.  All of the interfaces are there, but they are not that well documented.

Also I’ve given up using flask.  It looks like server-side solutions are old technology, and flask was getting in the way.  I’m going to work on trying to get things to work with ember.  I’ve gotten hello world working, and the next step will be to try to use ember to pass data between the various components of the trading system. Once that works, then it’s a matter of connecting opengamma with the bitcoin exchanges.

I don’t think it will be ready as a “saleable product” any time in the next six months.  My main focus will be to get something that I find personally useful for my own trading, and if anyone else wants to download, that will be fine.
